8:30AM-3:30PM: Rock of Ages Self-Guided Factory Tours

Rock Of Ages Visitors Center, 558 Graniteville Road, Graniteville | 866-748-6877

A tour of our 160,000 square-foot factory is not to be missed. The factory is an exercise in contrasts, with artisans using hand tools in much the same way as Michelangelo did centuries ago. These little-changed, artistic endeavors are mingled among computer-guided, diamond-tipped saws, precision grinders and laser-etching equipment. We invite you to come see products proudly made in the USA. Free to take this tour.

The Rock of Ages Visitors Center offers guided tours of the world's largest deep-hole dimension granite quarry and tours of our Graniteville factory. Our sandblast activity allows guests to create their own stone souvenir gift. Our video, exhibits and kiosks share Barre's rich cultural heritage and explain our quarrying and fabricating methods. The outdoor granite bowling lane is a unique recreational experience. Our gift shop offers Vt-made granite gifts, Vermont specialty gifts and other treasures from around the world. Strength Through Heritage

Barre is the fourth largest city in Vermont. While the community first developed around the milling available along the adjacent Winooski River, granite soon emerged as the key industry of Barre. In fact, granite from Barre, Vermont was used in some of the nation (and world’s) finest buildings, monuments, and memorials. Consequently, granite carvers from across the world settled in Barre making the city a rich mixture of cultures from all over the world.
